A NATIONWIDE backlog has left a tiny Scots village with only one Royal Mail delivery a week – and it’s on a Sunday.
Much like the rest of Scotland, post never used to be delivered on the seventh day in Morayshire.

But delays have left the residents of Cummingston, near Lossiemouth, without post for most the week.
And when it does appear through their letterboxes, it only comes on a Sunday.
Jennifer Beaumont lives in the village with her husband and her six kids.
She told the Press & Journal that late mail as left her with delayed bill payments and made it impossible to plan for her family‘s appointments over the last month.
She said: “The children are massive Harry Potter fans. There’s a little quote in one of the movies about no post on Sundays, which is when Harry receives his first letter inviting him to Hogwarts.
“The kids just love shouting out ‘no post on Sundays’ when the letters arrive.”
Royal Mail deliveries have been hit by a critical shortage in staff across the country.
Many workers are piling on the overtime to help get mail from A to B.
To deal with the shortages in the Morayshire area, the postal service has withdrawn the six day service from the area.
Ms Beaumount claimed her postie told her if she takes time off, the letters won’t arrive at all.
She added: “She says they’re just absolutely swamped at the moment.
“She had a week off recently and she told us that nobody had touched the letters while she was off because there’s absolutely no cover.
“It’s crazy. I have bank cards that expired in November that I’m still waiting on replacements for but everything comes in batches and dribs and drabs now.”
Royal Mail said residents should receive their mail at least every second day, which may include Sundays.
A spokesperson said: “Throughout Cummingston and the surrounding areas, our teams are working extremely hard to ensure a consistent and reliable service to households this Christmas.
“Our employees are committed to serving their communities and we are proud of the work they are doing to sort, deliver and collect mail this festive period.
“We can confirm we have mail being delivered to homes daily with the vast majority arriving on time.
“A local delivery office may, at times, be impacted by a delay and when this occurs we have dedicated teams in place to take immediate action.”
